Kyūzō Hashidojin (橋土神-急増, Hashidojin Kyuuzoi, lit.Surging Bridge of the Earth God) is a Shinigami in the Gotei 13, and the Lieutenant of the 9th Division. His Captain is Hajime Ryūmonki. He is a character in Bleach: Rasenhiden.

Appearance

Kyūzō bears the appearance of a normal Shinigami, fairly human. He has fair skin, dark brown hair combed back, similarly to Sōsuke Aizen of the canon storyline. His eyes are very narrow, and he has noticeably small irises that are a bright green. Unlike most Shinigami, Kyūzō wears his Shihakushō (死覇装, Garment of Dead Souls) in a different manner, leaving the kosode open and untucked, to reveal the white shitagi underneath. Aside from this, one of his most notable features is his large, spiky bushy black eyebrows, and the scar on his lips that extends down to his chin.

Personality

Kyūzō has a laid-back and excellent personality; always fun-loving. He has an amusing sense of humour, and can be expressive, naive, high-spirited, enthusiastic; and maintaining a sense of comfortableness about his abilities—though he does certainly have a knack for getting himself into unfortunate situations; mostly with women. Even so, he enjoys the attention that he gains from women, and is confident in his womanizing ways—though he is still quite chivalrous.

Even so, Kyūzō has a certain sentimentality to him; that is to say he can be quite sensitive to the plights of others; and he is also protective of the people he cares about, which can cause him to behave slightly more aggressively and violently. Besides all this, he attempts to restrain himself in this situations, because he often worries if people see him angered, their perception of him will be warped.

Trivia

• Kyūzō's draws several inspirations from Bolin of Legend of Korra, from design, consisting of brown hair and thick eyebrows, though his face is more similar to Mako, as well as his personality and Earth related abilities.
  • Darkrai states Kyūzō also reminds him vaguely of Chet Morton from the Hardy Boys.
