The Fifth Division (五番隊, gobantai), is one of the nine divisions of the Ryū Order, which was first headed by Captain Yoshiro Kazuki up until his death. The Fifth Division is the Order's shield, rather than its sword, and often works in tandem with the Third Division during battles. The Fifth also act as the defenders of the Fourth Division. It's Lieutenant was Tyrell Nishiki, who was one of only two of the current Lieutenants capable of performing Bankai following the death of Rikimaru Ichinose, at least until the promotion of Kugi, making it three. Per his promotion to the Commander of the Dragonforce, the Lieutenant position was taken up by Mikado Sayaka, who was Tyrell's apprentice.

Special Duties[]

Just like the Third Division is the sword which strikes the Order's enemies, the Fifth Division is the shield that defends it, her members, and Horiwari. They also act as personal escorts for the Fourth Division, acting as security within medical facilities. During widespread battles the Fifth Division carry over this role, and protect the members of the Fourth fiercely.

Organization[]

The Fifth Division follows basic Order principles and is headed by a Captain who, in turn, is supported by a Lieutenant. The one difference is that Tyrell, its Lieutenant, wields the same authority as Yoshiro does as Captain.
